_Christmas at the Holly Hotel_ is a rather strange and uneven romantic drama. When a New York food critic returns to her hometown to visit her parents (who run a hotel) for Christmas, she strikes up a romance with a local police officer with the assistance of some ghostly interventions. The ghost plot comes out of nowhere halfway through the film and is quite jarring, popping up randomly. And aside from Jesi Jensen, who plays the lead and is quite charming, the cast is pretty bad. Though they’re not helped any by the directing, which is very static. Still, there are some touching moments and there’s a certain mystique to the hotel. Yet while there are some things to like about _Christmas at the Holly Hotel_, overall it just doesn’t work.
