When ya get a chance checkout this amazing movie.. It's Dark, Raw and Realistic.

The Lead does an excellent Job in her role. The Emotions she portray is Intense and Top Notch

The Male Supporting Actor Aldis Hodge is Great!!! He's gonna win an Oscar one day. How Alfre Woodward didn't at least get an Oscar nomination is tragic. But Watch it's truly a great film

This movie brilliantly portrays the ongoing inner battle and the heavy price one has to pay as a prison warden. The character portrayal was so immaculate that I raise my hat to Alfre Woodard.

I think if a job screws with your head that much its time to move on. She should have applied for the wardens job with no death row that her buddy did .

Jesus did away with the 'eye for an eye' mentality in the New Testament, so it's a wonder to me why so many governments continue with the death penalty. This film doesn't quite delve into the reasons for or against such an inhuman form of punishment although it does get into the heads of those who have to deal with it in the prison system. It's often quite powerful, anchored by some excellent performances, although it could have delved deeper into the mindsets of the people at the heart of the story.

"Midazolam provokes unconsciousness, pancuronium bromide causes paralyzation. Finally, potassium chloride stops the heart." The life of the protagonist is already in the phase of paralysis. These psychological consequences are displayed intelligently, with distressing clarity. There is a different point of view, supported by a powerful performing of Mrs. Woodward, deep in her way of enduring a heartbreaking close-up.
