Started out well, but progressively got worse... no real plot, some poor acting and the ending really let the film down!

Same feeling. It's like they had to rush for the end ...

Rapace is holding her own but carrying this script is an impossible task as it's the weakest thing I've seen in a long time.
Plot holes galore and there's not a technical term or item in the entire film that is used correctly.
>The door is encrypted

Let's just all take a moment to revel in the stupendous idiocy it took to write that gem of a line.
Or how about this?
>Send location.
>Location six-seven.

Well that's the location sorted then, with a precise fix like that I'm sure they'll be real easy to find.

Female characters switch seamlessly between determined action heroines and complete hysterics while all men seem to be in rapist mode regardless of circumstance.
I don't know what kind of sex drive it would take to attempt a rape with a knife still embedded to the hilt in your leg?
The only real unpredictability in the whole film is that it's hard to completely predict scriptwriting as bad as this.

Not that it's a big deal, but it's entertaining, although in the end it degenerates, well performed by Noomi Rapace

I love the strong female lead in this one her presence is strong enough to hold the entire movie she reminded me of G.I Jane/Bruce Willis when it came to getting physical and she had me on the edge of my seat in all her confrontations. The story almost had me end the movie early but she kept me holding on all props to the female lead

I do not quite know what did not work in this movie ... Great lead actress, good action scenes, an interesting plot ... But the set did not look good, worse twist obvious and weak ... Too bad!

Whether you enjoy this movie or not is really going to depend on how much "bad" (bad writing, bad plot, bad characterisation, bad acting) you're willing to get through in order to experience the "good" (Noomi Rapace, the four major action set pieces).

Rapace is wasted on this script, but at least the movie gives me hope that she could lead a kick-ass action movie in the future.

The direction of the action sequences is surprisingly clear and simple (in a good way) by today's standards.

Everything except Rapace and the main set pieces is rather poor however. At least the movie's not that long (though it feels longer than it is, because the character spend 75% of the movie doubling back to prior locations).

As others have said it started out good. The lead took out some bad guys while protecting someone and that was good. Then she gets a gig protecting another, and they move from what appears to be a good place to Casablanca? WTF? Why would they do that? Then through out the rest of the movie they seem to wait around until the bad people show up.

Well, that was a film. I won't remember a bit of it 24 hours from now. It feels under-produced and low budget. The script is needlessly back and forth about who the villains are. It's not suspenseful - it's annoying. There's also an unnecessary sub-plot about Sam's personal life.

Feels like 2:30, but only 1:35. A waste of good actors.

I bet there's a TV pilot hiding in there if a good editor got access to the footage.

@xinit ... Yes the film seems way ==too hectic== and ==disoriented== in its plot. I have only watched to the end, because I like Noomi Rapace as an actress very much! `5/10`

_Close_ is a decent movie with an okay plot and fair acting performances. The storyline is somewhat ridiculous and falls short in producing the realism that the film intends to create. While the movie tries to depict a gripping and intense plot, it struggles to deliver it convincingly. Nonetheless, what keeps this movie afloat are the action and gun battles, which are well executed and thrilling to watch. Overall, if you're looking for an action-packed movie to kill some time, _Close_ is worth a watch, but don't expect it to be anything more than that.

Some major plot holes, mostly regarding bodyguard duties, which I admittedly know nothing about.

Overall, tho, not a great movie but not a bad one, either.

If you would like to rate this movie, please watch it in a sufficient ==concentrated== way `!`
If you do something else in between, such as housework, then you will rate this film poorly at the end `!`
Be objective, because the barren landscapes and scenes in this movie are not heartwarming `!`
Noomi Rapace is really the head point of this movie `!`

The film was ruined after the intro scene by a sub par plot.

A Netflix original film, Close is an engaging, though formulaic, thriller. Noomi Rapace stars as a security contractor who’s assigned to protect a rich heiress but the job goes sideways after an attack, forcing them to go on the run. Rapace gives a strong performance, and Sophie Nelisse isn’t too bad either. The plot however, is kind of ridiculous; though there are a couple of interesting twists. And there are some good action scenes. Yet Close has no ambition to be anything more than a run-of-the-mill action film, and it shows.

This hasn't gotten great ratings but I think it was a good, no frills, thriller, well executed.. The cast is solid (there are few better than Noomi Rapace and Indira Varma) and Sophie Nelisse, a newcomer to me, was sympathetic in her role. I give this a 7 (good) out of 10. [Action Thriller]
