Its lovely but not cheesy and none of the characters are "manic pixie dream kid" of anyone as usual. They are complex and, in certain point, easy to relate with. Seems that the story happends in the minds of the protagonists and you get to know everything what theyre feeling since they get to know each other till their fisrts and last fights, in a really dreamy enviroment.

Just two people in a relationship, alot emotional deficiencies, nice photo, easy to understand, engaging and nothing pedantic as the movies of the genre that want to be a little more than that.

This movie hits all the corners of my heart in the best and worst ways. These are the strange side angles and dreamy colors I want every love story to live in. The fighting feels too real and the cute one liners feel almost dreamlike and I love it all.

“This is not a dream.” Or is it? Comet is a remarkably compelling existential film that explores the nature of love, art, and dreams. Set in a parallel universe and told nonlinearly, the film follows a couple throughout various points in their relationship. At first it can be kind of a mindtrip trying to figure out what’s going on, but after a while things start to click. Emmy Rossum and Justin Long give excellent performances, and the directing style is quite interesting; particularly in how it transitions between time periods. Also, the writing is really clever, with witty dialog that's surprisingly deep at times. Wonderfully enchanting, Comet is an incredibly passionate and artistic film.

I generally don't fall in love with romantic films...but I tumbled head over heels for Comet. Sam Esmail puts a unique spin on the light romance formula, injecting it with a non-linear format, characters that have growth arcs while possessing a consistent core, numerous intense conversations on heady relationship topics, and an open ended conclusion that is perfectly placed. Elevating this even higher are the phenomenal performances from Justin Long and Emmy Rossum. This was an absolute gem that I'm glad I discovered.
