Horribly cheesy but still decent to watch. We get a ridiculous plot line partnered up with some hammed up performances which makes for some good moments.

Amazing cast. Good story. I mean, for 1995 it really could have been worse.
the laser at the end is something I can believe in, and the primates weren't too over the top.
Tim Curry sounded a lot like BORAT. Ernie Hudson and Laura Linney were the stars of this movie. Both determined and strong.

Congo is one that could use a remake. Since even in 1995, some of the effects felt out dated. For Earthquakes it was like the director just shook the camera. Amy the Gorilla and the musical score are the best things about the movie. Joe Pantoliano (Goonies) gives the best performance and he is barely in it.

Michael Crichton’s techno-thriller Congo leaps off of the page and onto the big screen in this fun adventure film. In order to get into the Congo and search for a lost expedition team, a telecom security agent joins a group that’s releasing a gorilla into the wild. The film has a rather interesting cast that includes Laura Linney, Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry, and Bruce Campbell. Also, the ape performers are pretty good; the ones who do Amy especially, as they make her feel like a real character. Additionally, the action scenes add a lot of energy and excitement to the film. Congo may be one of Crichton’s lessor works, but it’s still an entertaining ride.

The movie is very boring. A talking gorilla is pretty cool. I actually was about to shut the movie off cause it was that boring. Then all of a sudden the movie took a awesome turn at the end. It went from a family friendly boring movie to a horror show.

Now I'm usually a fan of Tim Curry but quite what he is doing in this rather weak and feeble hybrid of "Tarzan" meets "King Solomon's Mines" is anyone's guess. It's all about the search for a lost expedition that was being led by the son of an American industrialist who was seeking diamonds large en More
