[Netflix] The hunt of the witches was a persecution of the emancipated woman, the one who did not occupy her place in a society of men. It is therefore interesting the point of view of Pablo Agüero staging this witch hunt from the female gaze, which maintains power despite imprisonment. With a beautiful cinematography, and a soundtrack that captures us in a magical atmosphere, this is a film about freedom.

Unnerving and claustrophobic. This is a rather realistic take on the inquisition trials of women accused of witchcraft. No supernatural elements and you're only witnessing the torture indirectly. Although the plot is simple, the incredible cast and their songs manage to make it interesting and dynamic. The photography and the music accompany the film perfectly with some hypnotizing shots that give the film magical feel. It could've used a bit more suspense though and the connection between the inquisition judge and the lead could have been exploited better. But even so, it is still a very interesting film.
