_Cropsey_ is great documentary in the mold of _Paradise Lost_, _The Keepers_ or _The Jinx_. What stands out about _Cropsey_ are the clear voices of the directors (Zeman and Brancaccio), both of which grew up close to where the murders happened. They bring a personal feel to the film which is not present in so many true crime documentaries. Another key to this documentary is the way that it weaves legend (i.e. Cropsey) and reality to the point that the viewer is left questioning what we know and what we don't know. A truly powerful documentary that is well worth watching, especially if you are into true crime documentaries.

**Very well done. Also, even in short segments, the truly ghastly conditions and treatment of those who endured the Willowbrook State School was difficult to observe.**

“Giving it a spin via Netfux Streaming for my 31 Days Of Horror. Another flick I recall hearing good things about, so fingers crossed.”

"Cropsey" is not what I expected at all. I thought this was going to be a documentary about the Cropsey legend but instead was a heart-breaking story about a child abductor and the disappearance of five children.

It was weird because the directors combined some scary "Blair Witch" style shots of old buildings and hospitals. I half expected things to start jumping out at me at any moment. There was also some shocking film taken from a report that Geraldo Rivera did back in the '70s. The stories about the patients and terrible conditions at mental institutions are awful.

The court case for the accused child abductor was interesting but suggesting that this guy was the modern day representation of Cropsey was not exactly accurate or honest.

It's an affecting, often creepy documentary. I found it good but not anything I'd ever watch again.
