the story was surprisingly good, soundtrack was good and the acting wasn't bad apart from the dude. this movie would've soo much better if the writer had given him any semblance of personality other than him being a bit of a red flag. also didn't like that he ended up with Britney, the age gap just felt gross

“I’m not a girl, not yet a woman.” Pop star Britney Spears stars in the coming-of-age film _Crossroads_. The story follows three estranged high school friends who take a cross-country trip together after graduation. Spears gives a pretty good performance (though is a bit miscast as a virginal pre-med valedictorian), and the supporting cast, which includes Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Dan Aykroyd, and Kim Cattrall, give solid performances as well. And the film tackles some surprisingly mature issues, including sexual abuse, teen pregnancy, and parental abandonment. However, there are also a number of useless filler scenes of singing to the car radio again and again and again, and other minutia. Yet while it has some problems, _Crossroads_ is a compelling teen drama that has some interest things to say.

To anyone who loves this movie: more power to ya. I am not here to hate, I just really did not have fun watching it. I enjoyed seeing Britney act, but the writing was pretty bad. Then I saw that it was a Shonda Rhimes movie so that makes sense.

I think the only reason this movie gets so much criticism is that Britney Spears was the lead and people just love to hate her. In my opinion, this is a very well crafted Teen movie about girl friends finding themselves after graduation. Sure, some moments have cheesy acting but overall it is just the right balance of friendship, serious issues and fun! Not to mention Britney had a lot of control in the formation of the plot and I think she did an amazing job communicating her intention with this film. This is Britney at her peak and it shows, everyone else does a really good job as well!
