It took me four days to watch this. Was I expecting too much from a movie about killer rabbits? No... just because a movie has a silly premise, and a low budget, doesn't mean it can't still be entertaining. First off, this did not need to be over 90 minutes. The love-triangle subplot, and the drama between the father, and son, was pointless. Anytime the story actually picked up momentum, it would cut back to the two aliens - easily the worst part of the movie. Why are there aliens? How hard would it be to just have killer rabbits? Zombeavers didn't need aliens. The rabbits are CG, and they look... okay, I guess.
The only highlight is you get to see a few pairs of nice boobs. The acting ranged from fair - for this type of movie - to terrible. It was truly painful just how desperately this director was trying to make an Edgar Wright film.
What separates Cute Little Buggers from, say, Sharknado is the latter knew how dumb it was, and played it straight, yet just over the top enough, so it would be funny. CLB doesn't comprehend the difference between a self-aware bad movie leaning into its flaws and working with it (Sharknado); versus a well-made horror comedy (Shaun of the Dead).
There are plenty of other movies that do a great job at what CLB failed to accomplish.
