Not sure about this one. There is no tension anywhere in this movie. Everyone act like children. When the raiders attack it even more stupid. I know its an old movie but this is more a bad comedy 5/10

**A MASTERPIECE.**

This is a bigger and better sequel to Night of the Living dead. The effects and gore and a lot better. The zombies look a lot more dead but maybe that is just because it is in color. The music can be crazy at times where it is almost a comedy. The setting is much more fun. I think the best parts of the movie are when they are just going around the mall and taking things. It is a very interesting concept, what would you do in a mall by yourself? My only problem is it is too long and they take too long to get to the mall.

If you call yourself a horror fan and you haven't seen the original Dawn of the Dead, you need to get with the program immediately! No one messes with Romero, no one!

It's unfortunate that it's become so hard to find this movie physically or digitally. I first watched this many years ago via Netflix, and was lucky enough to find the complete edition on YouTube so I could rewatch.

The shorter version is definitely good for an initial watch, with the longer version nice for a bit more insight into what zombie/walking dead movies were about, before so many used them to make media.

I hate when I just met the best friend I’ll ever have, we click immediately and do fun dudes rock shit for a few days until he gets sloppy and crazy, gets bit by the undead and then I have to shoot him on his death bed.

Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie film ever made. I love the mall setting, I love Tom Savini's gore, I love the zombie that gets the tip of his head cut off by the helicopter, I love the clearing out the mall scenes, I love that the film reminds me of the Dead Rising games, I like the cast, I like the way the movie ends, I like that we just follow these people through their adventure. I really enjoy the soundtrack. I just really love Dawn of the Dead.

I don't know what I can say about Dawn of the Dead that hasn't been said before but I do know if there is one Zombie movie I would recommend everyone if they don't want to watch black and white movies, Dawn of the Dead is the one for you!

Good Zombie movie…. I remember seeing this as a teen…. I thought the movie was good…. But if I compare the Zombies to today’s zombies…. They pale in comparison. I much preferred Dawn of the Dead 2004 ….but this movie was good…. Worth a watch

This does have sloppy editing, and parts of it haven’t aged well (music; make up).
The writing makes up for a lot of its shortcomings, especially some of the deeper ideas it integrates.

Good editing rhythm with a sarcastic comment about the culture of the consumerism!

this movie inspired one of my favorite mcr songs so i think it’s pretty epic. also the guy in the sombrero getting his blood pressure taken is peak comedy.

What kind of people behave that way? They are all sentimentalists, even the military. For other hand, Roger and looters' behavior is totally unreal. They act like children going crazy and committing misses again and again.

Night of the Living Dead is one of my favorite movies period. Not just a horror film. Dawn of the Dead is a very different movie. I wouldn't classify it as a horror movie. There really aren't that many scary moments but it is very enjoyable to see the four main characters running around the mall trying to outsmart all the zombies. It really could be classified as a bit of a comedy. You don't see zombies getting punched in the face in modern films.

The plot and scenes are pretty simple when you think about it. They're made to feel above average by music, humour, action, adventure, direction and the settings. George A Romeo has a certain fun and intense style, and that's what makes it work. The actors did a good job understanding the movie and how to play the roles.

This film is a great satire and critic to the materialist society, not many horror films are able to transmit this kind of message in such an effective way like Dawn of The Dead does.

It's interesting that it is an horror film but I watched it much more like and adventure. A lot of action combined with humour and gore! I remember watching it the remake at the theatre when it was released, back in 2004 and it scared me a lot. Probably because I was 14 years old.
Considering that this a film from the 70's the make-up and the special effects are very good! The soundtrack was good too, helping to create the right atmosphere for each scene.

My biggest complain about this film is his duration, for me it's a little bit too long. At certain point it made me question when it was going to end.

There’s such a core of a good movie in here, but the bloat is intense. Granted, I think I inadvertently watched the director’s cut version–but it was at LEAST an hour too long. Tighten this up to 90 minutes and you’ve got something: the movie really plays with so much interesting stuff once the group gets to the mall. But in the version I watched it took…I’d guess 45 minutes to get there? Everything that happened, happened on repeat: we’re not going to shoot one zombie here, we’re going to shoot 10. We’re not going to pie one zombie in the face, we’re going to pie 10 zombies in the face. (Seriously, wtf was that.) Loved Ken Foree’s performance and I’m glad I watched this, but I wish there were something like an “editor’s cut.”
