[IFFR] A concept about rich vampires that if it had been comedy would have been funny. But the director/screenwriter takes it so seriously that he tries to construct a metaphor for the ins and outs of power. In the end, it is a kind of "Underworld" (Len Wiseman, 2003) mediocre and boring. When the acceptance of the status of predators arrives (they were, in fact, economic predators), by then our blood has run cold.

A movie that's as shallow and bland as it's characters. Which is a shame because the premise is interesting and this is shot well but it's boring. There is "slow burn" and then there is not even turning the oven on. I don't even think there are any horror elements to this other than how bad it is.

It's a slow one, more on the drama side with close to no action, some pop references thrown in (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Blade), nice visuals though and lots of neon, so unless that's what you're looking for, have at it. Two of these actors could go well as Leon and Ada Wong for the live-action Resident Evil movie. *Night Teeth* is another one to pair this up with, kinda similar, but not sure if I should.. **sink my teeth** into it hah. Meanwhile season three of *What We Do In The Shadows* tho :eyes:

Not for me. It's a vampire film with some interesting ideas and beautifully shot scenes but there's no soul in it. As the title suggests, it's beautiful but dead. The characters in here are bored rich people. The film tries to make them relatable but ends up failing. Not to mention the film moves too slow and just boring all the way through. It's like watching a pretentious arthouse film. Although on paper the theme is quite interesting, loneliness and emptiness, and them turned into vampires sort of brings some new excitement to their boring life, the film doesn't manage to really captivate me. Mainly because most of the effort goes into the style rather than substance. The characters desperately need more depth for this to work. They all do nothing to gain my sympathy.
