**French slow burn ancestor to Home Alone with pre-Internet Santa weirdo versus non-sociopath child.**

Mixed feelings about this Christmas-themed French home invasion but it's still a wild ride. And there's this hazy quality to the film that makes it feel like the fever dream. Truly insane and definitely worth seeking out.

more comedy than horror movie but still kind of amazing.... there's absolutely zero way home alone did not take inspiration from this movie, and I am madly in love with John Hughes!

I had high hopes for this movie as a more gritty and more 80s version of Home Alone but unfortunately the movie ultimately fails to live up to it's predecessor. It takes too long for something to truly interesting to happen despite having any kids' dream of a house. The bad guy isn't really a menace when push comes to shove and there's some excruciating editing and overlong scenes going on. It also does not help that the movie is filmed extremely dark (a great contrast with the very bright and colorful Home Alone).

The premise of the movie had promise but the Americans made a better version of this (twice). I think it's time for a new movie like this... Home Alone and John Wick combined. Call it "Latchkey Killer", "Latchey Revenge" and "Latchkey KIIIds"

Also: Home Alone worked cause Kevin McCallister was pretty much a psychopath who didn't give a fuck. This kid is a bit more realistic in his actions.

RIdiculous, over the top and good kid-like imagination, but ultimately, not that entertaining. Grenade + toy train setup though was hysterical

Has some good moments, but a handful of inconsistencies in the plot. Of course, if you suspend your disbelief enough, this is a pretty fun horror precursor to holiday movies like Home Alone.
Recommended to any holiday horror movie fans.
