This was a fantastic ending to the show in almost every way. Everything from the show is here and it is superb! But it's not without issues. The CGI is really good, but not quite perfect and you can really tell they shot it on digital instead of film which I think was a mistake. But damn it was good to see this show return finally after almost 15 years and to have everything work so well. Everyone falls back into character so perfectly and man-oh-man have I missed this dialogue. I also didn't care for the change in aspect ratio. Should have kept it 1.78: 1. And I could have done without the flashbacks.

A conclusion to one of the best television series of all time, 15 years later, HBO didn’t have to give it to us, but I’m glad they did.

Thirteen years after its abrupt cancellation, HBO's finally put the band back together for a proper conclusion to Deadwood, its unfinished Shakespearean western. The result fits like an old pair of boots. Perhaps a bit dustier than before, withered and cracked and worn, but no less familiar.
