@enjayeff kind of liked the technical aspect. It made it even more personal, in a way of a way saying: "ok, I'm no pro but I need to do it to tell that story" Of course it works because the story is crazy, with a more meh story would be baad

This film hit me hard. I felt the passion and anger along with Kate and David, and I felt so sad for all the people who lost such a great friend, brother, son in Andrew. It's tragic and the worst thing about it was the fact that the death of Zachary was completely preventable.

as a movie it's technically inept and poorly edited but a devastating story nonetheless

I agree with you 100%. I was taken out of the story on more than one occasion because the narrative and editing were sloppy and it definitely felt rushed at times. That said, it really is a captivating story and one absolutely worth telling.

Unfortunately, Zachary never lived to see how evil his mother is. That woman is deprived of emotion. In fact, I believe she's mentally unstable. That murderer shouldn't just have been let out on bail, she should have been sent to a psychiatric ward.

Highly emotional.
I don't know enough about true crime to know if this is influential or not but man this puts all these recent dragged-out docushows to shame.

One of the best documentaries ever made, but you need to be ready to watch a heartbreaking, dark, grim tale

Crazy story. My heart breaks for the grandparents. Just when I thought the story was coming to a close, BAM more horrifying things happened. So it only makes sense that it ends in literally the most tragic way. Reading the description, I did not think it was going to take that dark of a turn. One of the documentaries that you remember forever.

Wow, what a roller coaster of emotion this was. Mainly anger, but definitely heartbroken moments too. I don't know if I would be able to make a documentary like this if my best friend died, and I am not sure if I would recommend this to others mainly because it is so devastating.

even knowing a bit about this story, the experience of this tribute is so meaningful. i'm glad to be able to have seen it, even if it was heartbreaking.

One of the saddest films I've ever seen. The situation is enough to fuel your anger and the tragedy of loss is inescapable. Well done but ultimately, tore me up. 8/10

This was a brilliant documentary. I thought the way this footage was edited and pieced together to tell this story was so impactful and masterful - there are some incredibly piercing sequences and juxtapositions, as well as the narrative organisation from a broader point of view and the journey Kuenne takes us on - it's just really well done. Some could fault it for being too emotional, but in my opinion I think it's so fortunate that one of Andrew Bagby's closest friends was a filmmaker, cus it gave us a special kind of true crime documentary, one that we wouldn't be able to experience had this been made by someone distant from the family, and one we don't get to see often, that honours the lives lost and truly reminds you that these aren't just stories, but real people.

After watching, it must added to the collection of depressing movies. This one is even more powerful because it's a true story and it's just heartbreaking. A real must watch !
