Not sure if I would have liked it more or less if I didn't know who was attached to this. A tech-possession movie sounded really cool but the "mind-space" idea was underused and felt detached which can be said about a lot of stuff in the movie. It has little time for genuine interactions between characters and instead prefers to fill the dialogue with info dumps
"let me show you what I have in the garage" :face_with_raised_eyebrow:)
, tension and horror are pretty much absent (they had every excuse to blend realities here) and the final third just poked holes in any of the remaining logic the lore (and story) might have had...

@sp1ti can't agree more. There was so much potential here for some good mindfucks.

A quite original and somewhat sweet, but very disturbing and creepy story about Martin, a guy who just wanted to get laid again.

[Sitges FF] It gives the impression that the film is lost between its condition of horror cinema and the use of technologies of volumetric capture. Starting from a proposal on the use of technology to combat possessions by the Vatican (what "Evil" (Paramount +, 2019-) does better), the film is cold, which surprises in a director who, at least in his first two films, handled the pace and the action with great success.

Muddled, badly acted and an unoriginal storyline which is very surprising given the director.

The best part of this movie was the VR angle. But it was used too little. Otherwise, it's just a mediocre horror/thriller at best.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

A disappointment from a usually reliable director. Apparently filmed in secret during covid , but they shouldn’t have risked themselves for this.

Incredibly admirable and ambitious possession-exorcism. It isn't without its flaws, but much better than the criticism it received, and I have to admit that this is the most ambitious low budget COVID project I've ever seen. The concept is simply awesome. It combines elements of supernatural, modern technology, and religion and it works for well for the most parts. The only main gripe I have with this film is the pacing. The beginning is pretty dull because of the medical talk but there are lots of legitimately tense and creepy sequences later on that made it worth watching. The low-res glitchy look of the simulation adds to the surrealism of it. The religious part is quite silly to be honest and that makes a more entertaining watch. The performances are decent and the look of the entity is also pretty cool. I'm giving this an extra star for originality. Give it a chance if you're looking for a film that offers a really neat and original concept, which is quite rare these days.
