Avoid, just not worth watching.
It's bad, but not the "watch for the laughs" or "incredibly bad" kind, it's the boring kind:
The acting is mediocre at best, the cgi is poor, the writing is just a bunch of cliches, filler and bland talk.
The plot is as follows: Reporter John Benson takes his son Derek to a museum, while his daughter Cathy goes to see the singer Marcus Taylor and his ex-wife Brooke stays in home with Marcus' mom Margot. A volcan explodes, and the plot divides:
Cathy and Marcus search for a safe place.
Margot is injured and Brooke needs to take her to an hospital.
John and Derek driving through the disaster, looking for the others 2.
The switching between scenes isn't dynamic and nothing interesting happens in the three stories neither after. And the nonsensical ending it's just stupid.
The music is the only thing redeemable. It's generic so is not good but not bad either, simply does its job.
Like i said: the movie doesn't deserves your time, nothing happens, the destruction isn't spectacular, and there's nothing original or laughable.
The only reason to see this is if you want to know how not to make a movie.

It was a very good, intense movie, with realy good acting The cast was good and the movie was well put together.
