The Movie is best discriped with the words "viel gutes dabei".

in my oppinion too much story was cramped in the 92 minutes, especially in the beginning.
you can say it takes place in an alternate timeline. many things were the same as in the books, but it felt like the Känguru Apocryphen. many untold story and the known parts were from another point of view.

But the Movie made me genuend laugh like in "the naked canon". Some jokes were forced and but most filled the hole cinema burst in laughter.

And because it is a comedy movie i give it an 8.
Couse you cant compare a comedy movie with movies like Interstellar, or LotR

It did its job and filled me with pure joy

Loved the audio books, expected the worst of this movie, watched the preview screening and my assumptions were not disappointed. The criticism of the books is degenerated to pure phrases, the "Mr. Evil" is exaggerated as in the worst children's movies. Actually everything happend exactly as predicted by Marc Uwe in this very book: everything critical was dropped, everything that is known to sale well was added. The composition is then garnished with elements of a flat love story and finished is the x-millionst german entertainment movie without any courage to any experiments whatsoever. It is truly a pitty, yet, it is watchable, it is entertaining and at last, it is nevertheless a very funny movie. Don't expect nothing more than watching a movie with a kanguru and you won't be disappointed, expect any philosophical or political thoughts and you will be.

Better than expected :)

I didn't expect too much given that it's a German production and likely has a really limited budget but I was really positively surprised - it didn't feel cheap at all!

I really like the audiobooks and found this movie even better (since it has less of the weaker parts and also provides the visual component).

It's obviously kinda dumb but IMO it's done in an (somewhat) intelligent way (at least it didn't feel like cheap/normal comedy at all to me - with exceptions of course (the worst of it was the introduction of the "Hasenpfote")).

Not as good as the books/audio books but still decent.

I didn't read the books nor have listened to the audio-books, so I can't tell how faithful the movie is to the source material.
It was funny and I really loved the political statements, but:
- some jokes were very flat
- there was no chemistry in the love story
- the end sucked

The characters feel also very superficial and have no depth.

+1 for the Nazi-jokes, else would have given it a 6.
