Like when you go to the circus as an adult, expecting the same joy you found as a child. You can never go back, so why try?

This French copy of _The Pink Panther_ falls flat for three reasons:

1. There's no 'straight guy'. In the original _Pink Panther_, David Niven and his entourage were all super serious and professional, which gave Peter Sellers something to play off of. If everyone's a clown who's left to tame the lions?
2. The stakes are low. There's no real crime to solve (only an attempted murder), so why should we care?
3. It's not funny. The jokes are all slapstick sight gags and this gets old from the moment you see them setting up the first one.

On the bright side, this didn't piss me off like some other French comedies they've foisted on us since the reopening of the cinemas (_Chacun chez soi_, _Le Discours_, _Le Sens de la famille_...), so at least there's that.
