Formulaic, Diverting, Slapstick

Cibi's latest Don is a mindless, inconsistent drama concurrently serving as a full-on paisa vasool massy entertainer. Cibi Chakaravarthi tries to include almost everything you have seen in a commercial entertainer. The humor is nonsensical but quite amusing at the same time. Sivakarthikeyan's sublime performance shoulders the entire film and keeps you engaged. Aided by some earnest and fun performances, Don is a quintessential formulaic entertainer which gives you a burst of all kinds of emotions sporadically throughout its 166min runtime.

Following Doctor, Sivakarthikeyan now ventures into completing another degree and he ends up as an Engineer. The film gives vibes of a coming-of-age, campus-based commercial drama and it serves its purposes. The humor is surprisingly very good and the supporting characters have done a brilliant job. S.J Surya as Boomi is terrific. The show-stealer though is without any doubt Sivakarthikeyan. He is brilliant and handles all emotions naturally. If you want to watch a comedy-drama with a sweet message setting aside your intellectual brains, then Don is something that is bound to amuse you.
