When I judge these kind of movies (you know, those belonging to a trope: road movie, rom-com..) I mostly look for a nice chemistry between characters, a few charming moments and enjoyable secondary characters.
The father-daughter dynamic was nice even tho it felt a little acted in some moments, the dancing scene was nice and Guy made a nice best friend.

All in all, it was fine and touching in some moments, it did its part as you'd expect from such a movie.

p.s. Soundtrack was nice (maybe opening aside) and I think I'll never be able to unsee Kaya Scodelario as Effy

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The story was very unique and the acting was really strong. I thought that I had the ending figured out during the first third of the movie - I got it both completely right and completely wrong. It won't win any awards but not every film has to try to do that.

This movie was a solid six until the very end. The ending of this film came
completely out of nowhere. The death of the daughter was a pathetic literary device, b/c there was no evidence that she was ill, regardless of mentions of this symptom or that symptom that were never played up during the course of the film. Based on this, I dropped my rating down to a five, b/c it was such an awful way to end this film
.

Mia Isaac was really impressive, however. This is the second film I'd seen her in recently. I just watched _Not Okay_ last week, and she was excellent in that, as well. I'm looking forward to seeing her in more roles.

"You're not going to like the ending of this story" says Wally, our main protagonist at the beginning of this film. Never a truer word said - the plot changes dramatically and it's a bit of a rug pull. The film is still okay though, albeit fairly unexceptional.

You’re not going to like the way this story ends…

A sweet, intimate road trip movie led by great performances from John Cho and Mia Isaac that has just enough melodrama goes completely overboard with the ending. I had an inkling at what they were hinting at initially during the movie but shrugged it off as not possible, but boy was I wrong. Aside from that, still an enjoyable watch.

Cute movie. Good acting. The twist was unexpected. Not an Oscar-worthy film, but nice.

It's decent. I had a little cry in there. Worth a watch.
