Fun and slick movie but the second half wasn't the the kind of story progression I wanted to see. Also totally terrible fourth-wall speech there.

Late af to this movie and definitely not the target audience, but I loved this shit!

The cast is phenomenal and they do a great job capturing that high school feeling. Loved how prominently Inglewood/LA was featured.

Can’t recommend this movie enough. Glad so many of these actors went on to other movies and shows! Now I gotta tune into this writer/director to see what other stories they have going now.

Pharrell and Chad killed it with the original songs for this movie. Can't Bring Me Down is such a bop!!!

This is a lot of fun. It earns so much credit because of its style; the editing, cinematography and music are very clear highlights and immediately stood out to me. The acting’s also really good across the board, even Asap Rocky gives a pretty decent performance despite not being a professional actor. There’s a lot of good comedy and unique scene ideas, however some parts of it are predictable and forgettable. It’s a story you’ve seen before, but one that manages to be creative within that formula. Not all of its stylistic choices work for me though. For instance, I thought the narration was completely unnecessary. I also kinda wish it stuck with its 90s hiphop aesthetic, for example I thought the Korn song didn’t fit the vibe of this film at all. Overall, this is easily recommended. It’s one of those rare summer films that actually manages to be funny and entertaining all the way through, not just for 10-20% of its runtime.

This movie was absolutely fantastic

The first half of the film is great, dope even, and then it seems to lose its way and becomes a little predictable.

The soundtrack was real nice and the whole vibe of the movie was great.

Why did I wait so long before seeing this movie, its a great one plus the music is 'dope' :-)

Was this released too late in the game to get any award nods, because if not.. someone really dropped that ball. Not really what I was expecting, and I still loved it. Love seeing new and different faces being part of a non-flop indie (?) film. Somebody recognize all these people's talent & genius and allow them to keep doing what they're doing, and I'll be there to watch. I don't even want to get into the race related stuff that was basically at the center of the film because I'll just mess up talking about it well enough, so I'll leave you to experience it for yourself in the movie. It really got to me, especially near the end. Watch this shit now.
