Because the world needs a pseudo-intellectual artsy film with an evil twin. This is the sort of movie that wants you to think, "Well, I didn't understand it, so it must be good!"

I could list many reasons why I find this movie disgusting, but I don't think it's worth it. Mainly I find it hard to get through all this misogyn shit. Just when you think that a story is about to start three quarters of the way through the film, things go off the rails (what the hell is that sudden body-horror a la Cronenberg good for) and you're left with an unsatisfying shitty feeling.

Had no infos on the movie at all, except that it is by Ozon. Was surprised to see a film by him that is "Polanskiesque" to such a degree. (Feels like a modern mix of Rosemary's Baby and The Tenant - both great movies! - but doesn't live up to this comparison). Ultimately, the film felt too superficial to me, with too much focus on plot twists, the "aren't twins strange"-trope, and "female lust as envisioned by a male director" instead of on convincing psychology. Ozon demonstrates that he is a very versatile director, but overall this film was a disappointment to me.
