This is not a knock-off of How I trained your dragon. It is actually based on a book called The Dragon Rider. It's by the same author who wrote Inkheart. It's a fun family friendly fantasy that brings dragons into the modern world. If you love animated movies it's an enjoyable watch, plus there are a couple of Easter egg nods to other animated features scattered throughout.

The name on Netflix is "FireDrake, The Silver Dragon" and I think this is much more young kid appropriate than How to Train your Dragon.

This is basically nothing more than a sad knock-off of "How To Train Your Dragon". This movie completely lacks whimsy, fun, heart, humor, warmth.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

@schmoogie Dragon Rider is based on the novel of the same name, released in 1997, six years before the novel that would become How to Train your Dragon. Judge it for its own merits, but it's certainly not a knock-off.
