Driving Miss Daisy... driving me crazy more like it! Now i sure do like a Morgan Freeman film, such a fantastic actor, and not forgetting Jessica Tandy (bossy old fart) great chemistry, and they both pull on the right gear for this lovely, wonderful, heartwarming film.. 7/10

This could have been a great movie, but the idiots who remastered it thought taking God's name in vain was a good thing, when in reality it is a curse!

Not entirely devoid of charm, but this is basically Sesame Street for adults. Its observations about racism are so plain and basic, it makes _Green Book_ look like _Malcolm X_. Speaking of Spike Lee, it's quite embarrassing that this received Best Picture over _Do The Right Thing_, a vastly superior film by every account (dealing with a similar topic, no less). With this film, the dialogue and acting will too often tip in the direction of corny instead of charming. It's trying to be Spielberg, but it feels more like Crowe. Specifically, the 'conflict' and interactions between Hoke and Daisy are so cheesy that it even feels forced for a movie that's supposed to be set in the 40s. Freeman and Tandy are clearly trying and have good chemistry, but they have almost nothing to work with. The pace is sluggish, the story arc is predictable, the characters are too one dimensional, the visuals barely have any personality besides the occasional sepia filter and retro lighting choices (which are admittedly well executed); time hasn't been kind to this one.

3.5/10

The acting is great, so is the makeup. But the story is plain, it lacks of dramatic arch. And the editing is weird. But I enjoyed it.

While Driving Miss Daisy isn't what i call a best picture winner, since there were more deserving movies that came out that year, but the movie shouldn't get hate just for that.

The movie is sweet, charming and heartwarming. This is the kind of film that granny's go to watch and after it's over their something like "That was nice". Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy were excellent in this movie, as both of them had great chemistry and very entertaining conversations between them.

It dose get kind of dull at times and i do wish the films pasting was a bit better, but that's just me. I say it's worth checking out, because there's plenty of things to like and appreciate in this movie.

This did not age well. It's boring and doesn't really deal with racism well. It's just an old lady that makes friends with Morgan Freeman. Maybe that was good enough in 1989 but not today.
