so, I'm probably the minority, but I honestly believe the original Sarah survived. Google this theory, I'm not the only one
I love Karen Gillan. I love dark humor. I love deadpan delivery.
I couldn't get through this movie.
Maybe it gets better at the end? I guess I'll never know.

It was okay. An interesting concept and quite amusing at times. I enjoy this sort of weird humour, but it definitely isn't for everyone - you either 'get it' or you don't. Was underwhelmed by the ending.

Loved Karen Gillan's acting especially when she's interacting with herself the timing and execution were great.

My problem with it is the ending it went for a more twisty ending but I think it would of benefited from a more action packed ending sinse the whole movie was spent training for combat. And so you expect action but you don't get any.

I expected a sci-fi action movie but in the end, I received something altogether different. This is an offbeat and quirky movie that has two great performances by Gillan and Gillan. Smarter than you think!

By the mediocre reviews I was expecting a pretentious Young-Adult-novel-esque action thriller, but it was actually a surprisingly funny, yet poignant dark satire. If you don't like deadpan humor, you'll probably hate this.

Ok, so I didn’t completely hate it. But I really don’t think I will ever watch it again, ever. It was weird from the get-go. Everybody had some weird emotionless and literal character.

Everyone in the film seems to talk in a rapid fire, stilted emotionless monotone. Almost like this is supposed to be film noir or a poorly dubbed foreign film. Maybe all the characters are loaded with horse tranquilizers.

There's a lot of strange expositional dialogue, such as when Sarah 1.0 is talking to her lawyer.

"*I* suggest taking personal combat training lessons from a personal combat trainer. *ALSO* we should discuss my rates."

I'm unconvinced this is a comedy, a thriller, or even much of a drama.

Writer/ director Riley Stearns' Dark, expressionless movie "Dual" was intriguing and thought-provoking blurring the line's between sci-fi and comedy. I feel the script and writing was good, Stearn's directing should of been better. The real star in this movie is actor Karen Gillan playing both roles. I purposely will not spoil this movie. It's good, not great. Do yourself a favor and watch this film.

This movie is like an episode of Black Mirror. Dark, dystopian science fiction. I enjoyed it.

Bloody fantastic film. I thought it was just going to be yet another low-brow SFX laden action thing with loads of fight scenes, not really my thing, but Karen Gillan was in it, so I thought I'd give it a go before crashing out. Not at all what I expected. It's actually a really clever dystopian black comedy with fantastic performances from everybody involved. It's getting a lot of hate, seemingly because many others thought it was going to be the same film I thought it was, but unlike me, they were disappointed it wasn't actually that. The interesting thing about it is, it seems designed to have two seemingly open possibilities of how it ended, but in reality depending on which people choose to accept, you can see how closely they paid attention and thought deeply (or not) about the film. If you want an action movie, give it a miss, but if you like cerebral black comedies, watch it ASAP!

Pretty goofy and funny.
Did the double poison the original? Mom & boyfriend were part of the plan? That's forked up.
The movie is really good, full of irony. The dialogs are weird on purpose. I just didn't like the ending as I really hoped Sarah would survive. Or the best ending was really the two of them leave together somewhere.

Not sure about this one. It's an okay watch I guess. This dystopian bleak comedy has some intriguing concepts and I thoroughly enjoyed the delightfully dry humor and deadpan delivery, but it doesn't come together as a whole and it's just hard to fully connect with it when there's almost no human emotion involved. I was really enjoying how flat and lacking in energy it was at first, but it wears out very quickly. Also, I feel like this is basically just _The Art of Self-Defense_ again with less impressive execution. It at least shines in its dark comedy aspects. This is certainly an interesting film but I don't think I'll find myself going back to this anytime soon.

@csrz Apart from the slightly similar personal defense lessons, I didn't find any other similarities with _The Art of Self-Defense_ which was mainly satirizing/critiquing toxic masculinity. I think _Dual_ , even with its overt deadpan humor, it managed to handle a wider range of issues, like
the emotional disconnect in long-distance relationships, alcoholism, depression etc.
more impressively than anything TAoSD did.

Funnily enough, _Dual_ reminded me more of another Jesse Eisenberg movie: _The Double (2014)_.

You don’t really know how much you want to live until you have to fight for it, the downside of that is we don’t usually have to, so we take life for granted. Karen Gillian and Aaron Paul adapt fairly well to the tone of Riley Stearsn. I fully welcome more entries in the Stearnsiverse, I’m very into the world he lets us hang out in in his films.
