I love Fred Astaire and I love Judy Garland so I expected to just love this movie as well, but unfortunately I didn't. I enjoyed the movie and the opening scene with the drums was great, but there just didn't seem to be a whole lot of chemistry between Garland and Astaire. There were also quite a few love triangles going around. But above all, I just didn't like the ending very much. They way Garland and Astaire made up was a bit awkward. And I was very dissapointed in the wardrobe for the very last scene. The idea is that they are going to walk down ths Easter Parade at the end of the year and Garland is going outshine Astaire's former partner. And while Garland may have outshined her performance wise, her outfit and hair appeared so bland in comparison and I was pretty disappointed. And while one dress shouldn't make much of a difference, it was supposed to be the climax of a year of work and it just didn't feel like it really was.

What more do you need than Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Arthur Freed, Irving Berlin and the amazing golden years of the MGM? nothing else.

Not a lot of storyline in the film, it's more about the song and dance numbers. Didn't realise just how many I knew from this film prior to watching it!

image 4/5 and sound 3/5. It will not be one of the best musicals, but it's very good, choreography and actors shine
