'Eeva' is a darkly humorous short film about grief. This contradiction alone should be enough to check it out. But on top of that, it also has a coherent animation style and good pacing. That's why I give it a clear recommendation. You can definitely devote 15 minutes of your time to this film.

Probably a social commentary about grief in our society. Burial at cemetery, and what's follow. Almost all characters but the main are monotonous and passive, until she throws a tantrum in a restaurant. Mix of reality and fantasies. No dialogue.

Visual style is disagreeable, it's long, and boring. I get it's trying to say something, but omg was it boring.

[Annecy '23] Constructs social commentary using a sense of humor and a traditional animation style that is marked by a remarkable sense of composition, perfectly balanced to portray the monotony of social norms. It begins with a funeral, one of those rituals in which social norms are more strongly established and differences and traditions are more clearly reflected, with the protagonist surrounded by men who are all the same. Throughout its 16 minutes, the story develops in a fluid way, introducing surreal elements and a dark but effective sense of humor.
