Elvira, Mistress of the Dark

"Elvira" is a fun movie. Cassandra Peterson has a real talent for comedy. The actors playing the other characters could have been anyone. Nothing about them stands out. Overall, no one should be surprised that this is about anything other than Elvira's cleavage.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark is a guilty pleasure of mine. And it's not ONLY because of Cassandra Peterson's ample bosom. It's also because Cassandra Peterson in her Elvira persona is quite charming and funny and that helps this movie quite a lot. Most of the time I was laughing came from something she said or did. The rest of the cast is ok, but no one really stands out. The story, on the other hand, leaves a little to be desired. It's just a vessel to cram as much of Elvira's charming comedic talents into an hour and a half, but that doesn't really matter all that much as the movie is quite watchable with just Elvira running the show. You have to excuse me as I have had a couple of drams of whisky while watching this, but I can't help wondering... How many meters of boob tape/glue did they have to use to keep those boobs in place during all that jumping and running???
