...and who knew that every fear in this movie would become a reality after a tragic terrorist attack in 2001.

Still holds up really well over 20 years later, and even more relevant now.

Ahead of its time in terms of subject matter.
Really dated in terms of execution and style.

@jordyep Yeah some of the stuff like the weird filters in the tunnel, or the "rotate the CCTV footage" stuff was cringe, but otherwise for the most part it's really well done imo

One of my all time 'Go To' movies. Will Smith and Gene Hackman are excellent in their respective roles. Love the twists and turns.

And just like that, all privacy vanished by the time 2020 came along. Oh, it'd be a dream to have the 4th Amendment mean something in today's age. Great movie overall, though I doubt the FBI would turn on corrupt NSA agents.

Great action flick. Smith and Hackman share a good chemistry, while they run through a plot that is truly frightening, especially in today's climate.

Enemy of the State is an action-packed Christmas film from director Tony Scott. While out shopping high-powered lawyer Robert Dean is secretly given a file that incriminates the NSA in the death of a U.S. senator, which soon makes Dean the target of a government black ops team that’s seeking to eliminate the file and everyone connected to it. The cast is quite impressive, featuring Will Smith, Gene Hackman, Jon Voight, Lisa Bonet, and Barry Pepper. However, the writing’s a little weak and over-the-top with its complicated plots and broad characterizations. Yet there’s a bit of fun to the madcap adventure, and the action scenes are shot especially well. Exciting and full of thrills, Enemy of the State is an entertaining popcorn film.
