The first movie was great, but this one, not so much.

I really enjoyed the first one but sadly this sequel is nothing like it. It features a whole bunch of people we don't know and the ones we do barely have screen time. Stallone himself only appears for fifteen minutes total which is a damn shame. It was also an incoherent mess and a story that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. There was no emotional attachment to any of the characters yet they tried to make certain scenes "sad" by adding tragic music. Sad music isn't enough to make me care. Please Sly, you can do better than this.

this is so far the worst movie it's like watching a 1980s Bollywood movie.

I HATED this movie. I loved Escape Plan, I think it's underrated. I was shocked last night when I saw this on iTunes to little or no fanfare and then I wasn't so shocked when I started watching. Sly and Bautista are not the stars of this film by a long shot. The real star of the film is Shu and Sly's voiceover, which accompanies each and every move Shu makes. Is Shu just remembering old lessons of Sly's that happen to coincide with his plight? Is Sly watching the movie and providing commentary? Who knows. This movie is awful and the CGI is subpar. I knew I was in trouble the second the movie opened and a roof exploded with the most hilarious, iphone level CGI fire I've ever seen.

Once I realized I had fallen victim to a classic bait n switch, I tried to remain optimistic. I did pay 5 bucks to rent this so why not give it a fair shake. I just couldn't enjoy this movie. Lame effects, generic bearded bros, constant VO, bad fight editing, blah blah blah. Just not good!

I don’t often leave comments on movies or tv shows but I feel I had to leave one for this movie. I really enjoyed the first one, it was great and that is what made me excited to watch the 2nd! Escape Plan 2 has a lot of different characters in the film and I feel we don’t get to know them much. In this movie I thought Stallone was going to be a main character again, but no… he’s not in it much at all even the previous main characters are hardly seen. The story I really did struggle to get into. I hardly felt gripped to my seat or curious what could happen next, I felt like it was jumping from scene to scene which kept making me lose interest. It generally feels and looks low budgeted, I just wished they followed the way the 1st movie was directed and came out. I don’t think anyone will mind me saying this but I cut the movie off and didn’t finish it as it was horrendous. I’m sure I’ll give the 3rd instalment of the franchise a shot but I don’t have my hopes up.

What is it about these low budget, Chinese-produced, straight-to-video action movies that they always have to LOOK so cheap..? like why cheap out on the smallest, and easiest effects like blood or bullet hits. Doing them soo cheaply that they look like they were made with a free iPhone app really brings me out of a movie, right away. Every time. Aside from the cheap fan-made look of the film, the plot is okay, but a little played out. There is not much Stallone in either, so don't be fooled by that.

A lot weaker execution and plot than the pretty good first film. Why didn't they put some good old fashion iron bar doors in the corridors like in normal prisons? That would have slowed their progress down :joy: It felt like a budget movie made especially to capitalise on the Chinese market. Weak.

A low-budget straight to video sequel, Escape Plan 2: HADES is a major departure from the original. While attending a bachelor party with his cousin, Breslin Security consultant Shu is abducted and held prisoner at a black site called HADES, and while he works to escape his team realizes what’s happened and starts looking for him. The plot doesn’t make a whole lot of sense and is full of bad clichés. Sylvester Stallone takes a backseat to Chinese marshal artist/film star Huang Xiaoming, who really doesn’t have any charisma. Also joining the cast are David Bautistia and Jaime King. Escape Plan 2: HADES has none of the tension and suspense of the first film, and nothing fresh or exciting to offer.
