A truly beautiful movie. Some may say that most gay movies of today replicate what has already been done in the past, and while some elements of Esteros may resemble such elements its premise and setting make you feel nostalgic of a place people outside this culture have never been in simply through the protagonists' childhood memories and love for another

While some have pointed out that the movie felt slow to them, that's exactly what makes it wonderful and organic to me. They don't immediately re-fall for each other after spending 10 YEARS apart, since despite still being at their core the same people, they have still grown and evolved with their respective journeys

The movie mainly follows the protagonists slowly rekindling the flame that once lit their relationship and finally give in to what they felt for one another long ago, when Matu's family was still in the way.

If you love the childhood sweethearts trope, geniune and caring gay love rather than solely sexual or even movies about the memories in the countryside, this is 100% the flick for you
