When you make a flashforward so essential at the beginning of the film you need a perfectly finished final development. It is not fully achieved on this occasion. Otherwise the movie is interesting.

Like pretty much every science fiction film I've seen in a romance language, it's much more interested in getting the emotional tone and cinematography right than the attempts at actual science fictional speculation or technical high concept, but I forgive them that when they are enjoyable, and this one has a very agreeable tone with a cast of actors that are a joy to watch, so, though it's very light on the speculative concept, it's a comfy watch with a central theme and conflict derived from its central concept and the the relationships and personal histories of the characters, which is a pleasant change of pace from villains and aggression that usually accompanies the subject matter.

Special mention of how nice the cinematography, visual theme and design is, while being distinctly "not sci-fi". It has a subtly muted color pallet with emphasis on organic and warm tones. Paired with the winter setting and clothes, it's just really nice to look at. The score is minimal without being noticeably absent.
