Yikes. The acting is overall decent, but the script they're working with is abysmal. Oof, such moronic characters made this a frustrating watch. I can't say much more without spoiling this pile of crap for whoever is a fan of Affleck, Monaghan or Claflin and wants to pop it on. First 25 mins is alright and then it gets sillier and sillier. Mercy 3.2 score.

1. love india eisley and her big sad unhinged eyes
2. love sam claflin and his bone structure
3. love michelle monaghan and her crying

were those things worth suffering casey affleck the whole time? debatable. predictable for its genre and honestly one of the scenes made me think something ELSE was going to happen, so when it didn't it was especially disappointing.

but sam claflin made it like. 80% worthwhile

Excellent actors are cast adrift in this familiar and predictable thriller. A couple of tense scenes aside, you won’t be holding your breath during this one.

Doesn't offer anything new and the characters aren't particularly likable.

Was it terrible? No. Was it memorable? No. It took me 3 days and 4 sessions to watch this thing and never at any of those points was I so into it that I didn't stop myself from doing something else I wanted to do more.

Side note: Can someone tell Casey Affleck to stop trying to sound like Mark Ruffalo with a mouth full of food? It's distracting.

If you've watched movies over the past 20 years or so, you've seen this movie at least 8 times.
Seriously, this is supposed to be a suspense movie, but as you watch it there's nothing to get excited about because you already know what's coming up before the movie gets to that point. Even the big finale has been done a dozen times before.

There is absolutely NOTHING original or different from any of the other movies where a stranger comes into their lives and things start to go pear-shaped immediately. Is he the good guy or the bad guy? Within seconds we know - he's the bad guy and everything he does is exactly what they've already done in all the other movies. It's not a bad movie, but you'll never get more than a resting beat from your heart.

As a couple of side points...
> Would movie sound people PLEASE turn up the mic on Casey Affleck!! Entire dialogue scenes go AWOL while he mumbles with marbles in his mouth.
> I don't know if it was the lighting or the makeup people or not, but Michelle Monaghan is looking OLD.
