I have the complete opposite opinion as tj.

It was boring, slow, and the jokes weren't funny. Maybe if you were in your late teens/early twenties in the era of the film you'd be able to relate to it a bit and enjoy it. I lasted about half way through before I left the screening, along with a few other people.

I'd recommend watching the trailer. If you watch that and think "yeh, this looks really funny" then you'll probably enjoy it. If, like me, you watched it and though "Hmm, i don't understand how this is getting 9/10s everywhere", you're probably better of missing it.

I had the same opinion as you, it felt like the film went nowhere and there wasn't really anything to it.<br /> <br /> While I didn't walk out, I was tempted when it was an hour and a half in and it felt like nothing happened, and nothing was going to happen.<br /> <br /> There were a few moments that made me giggle a bit, but it's not something I'd recommend.

This movie is good but it doesn't compare to 'Dazed and Confused' and I'm not sure why Linklater thought it was a good idea to market it as a "spiritual sequel" to that movie. 'Everybody Wants Some!!' doesn't have that much in common with 'Dazed.' It's a fine college comedy but not much more than that. The soundtrack is great and there are a number of interesting characters, but it all almost seems like a persiflage or parody of 'Dazed.' This movie certainly lacks the realism of 'Dazed,' which makes the latter movie so brilliant in my opinion. 'Everybody Wants Some!!' is a fine comedy but it's nowhere near the masterpiece that 'Dazed and Confused' is. I think it's pretty much impossible to recreate the brilliance of that movie.

Not a lot happens but that may be the point. The final days of freedom before classes start, these young people party, hang out, practice baseball and play Space Invaders. Thankfully they are a likeable bunch of people so its not an endurance test as we hang out with them too. I can see why some people didn't like this film, as I said not a lot happens, there isn't a lot of dramatic momentum, but its fun and is an enjoyable way to spend the time as we for a couple of hours forget our own pressures.

A movie about absolutely nothing. There is really no story here, just college jocks and their shenanigans. I found it entertaining though and there were a few chuckles.

Aside from the baseball scene, it’s not a laugh out loud comedy. It’s more of a drama, what is life and what/who should I be. I liked it, I didn’t love it, though I’ll watch it again sometime and probably get more out of it.

It has nothing to do with the movie itself, but I found Jenner hard to watch - especially as he was ‘the quiet, nice guy’ - knowing in real-life he’s a total tool who admitted to severe domestic violence.

This movie is definitely not for everyone, especially for the people who wanted to compare it to Dazed and Confused. The beginning is a bit slow with some odd (but not bad) acting, but I promise if you push through for the first fifteen minutes, the rest of the movie is awesome! I loved that they didn't have any "A list" actors playing (or not that I could recognize) which made the movie have a more Indie feel for it. I do have to admit, I'm one of my only friends who loved this movie. But then again they wouldn't pass the first ten minutes. So I guess this is just one of those movies, either you love it or you hate it. I definitely loved it!

Worst movie of the year so far. I loved Dazed and Confused, but this was horrid. There were more than a few scenes that were basically copied right from that movie that just make you roll your eyes. There was zero 80's feel to this movie so if you're even hoping for some nostalgia don't bother.

what the heck was that ? how the hell does this piece of boring totally garbage no fun no jokes has a 7+ rating. Just avoid it. I turned it off after one hour
