I really wanted to like this movie, because it has so many of the things that I like - special abilities! Minority representation (with main characters, too!!)! Postapocalyptic-adjacent themes! Unfortunately, it didn't have the excitement that I typically want in movies like this - it moved really slowly - and it seemed like the abilities, which were an essential part of the story, were never really explained or given a purpose of any kind. Like...[spoiler]we have this family of women who can disassemble any item into dust particles and then reassemble it, and they just sit around doing that over and over with random objects with no purpose at all other than to see some pretty colors when they're done? What. What? I don't get it.[/spoiler] Anyway, I didn't hate it, but definitely thought of doing a big ol' DNF a few times throughout.
