Jimmy Cullen (Dwayne Johnson) is an ex-con who sets out for vengeance while being pursued by a cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and a hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen).

Faster has a pretty basic plot but manages to stay somewhat entertaining throughout. Dwayne Johnson is an actor I like. Despite playing the big tough guy characters in most of his films, he plays that sort of person very well. He is a very intimidating looking man and is very believable in his persona. The score is surprisingly well done and was a welcome addition. Many could argue they wanted to know more about Cullen but his mysterious demeanour I thought complemented the movie in a way.

Billy Bob Thornton was decent as the cop. A big problem was the hitman character. He didn't add a whole lot to this film and his scenes with Maggie Grace just felt like filler and added nothing to the movie. Jackson-Cohen wasn't believable enough to be a hitman for me and was more of a distraction to the movie than a bonus.

The movie dealt with both revenge and also forgiveness quite well and never went too over the top. The scene with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was quite powerful.

This is a movie you can switch your brain off to watch and have a somewhat decent time. A movie called Faster, I expected it to be more of a thrill ride than what I watched, but it wasn't bad. 5/10.

I genuinely did not think I would like _Faster_ as much as I did. To be fair, I didn't think I would like it at all, but even so. This might actually be my favourite Dwayne Johnson role. It's almost entirely physical, which suits him very well, but the rare moments when it's not just that he nails too.
