Trying a little too hard to be modern and PC, and that doesn't have a good effect on the movie as a whole. The fact that I found myself more invested in
how Billy & Ingrid are gonna end up
than the kids' wedding didn't help the plot all that much either. Does have its moments, but ultimately not all that much soul or chemistry.

-How many NPC's you want?
-yes.

A movie with check boxes, anti racists, feminist, anti capitalistic etc. etc. But forget to add some scenario in it. Waste of money/time.

While Steve Martin's version of this was a remake, it was a great remake and a really cute movie. Then the unoriginal Hollywood big shots decide to remake it again and, as you know, when they remake it then it must be super PC, super woke and super political.

In other words, this is a steaming pile of propaganda.

I really wanted to like this one and the cast was pretty great, however it just didn't spark any joy as the latter versions. The script was bad from the get go. The parents are divorcing which is already depressing, Andy Garcia's character didn't get through any catharsis to come back to Gloria Estefan's arms and no silliness with the wedding planner? Eh.

A remake of a remake, and it’s very much worth watching! Was it necessary to be made? Not necessarily. But it was a quality rom com that will be very relatable to many. While it may suffer from predictable rom com tropes, I think it hit a level execution that will appease compared to most comparable movies.

Rating: 2.5/5 - 7/10 - Worth Watching

It started like a typical romantic comedy (and remake), with a latin accent of course.
But then the more I watched it the more I wanted to barf. They turned it into a trendy feministic pile of crap... can you watch anything these days without that :poop:?
So, the bride is a strong, independent woman. She works a lot, she's good at it of course. And she decides everything. She even wants to go to Mexico to work, it's her decision completely.
And SHE proposed to him.
Her fiance doesn't like sport, doesn't like fishing, doesn't like strippers. But he does like yoga and smoothies. And he leaves his career and his path to follow her to Mexico to do "something".
And - he takes HER last name.
Like wtf seriously.. is this a new type of trendy men? Just hand her your balls pal, you don't use them anyway. Shut up and go drink some smoothy on the beach.
They took a good movie and ruined it with all that propaganda.

Warner Bros recently cancelled Batgirl because they are focussing on 'quality' - really? Why did this get a release then? The second remake of Father Of the Bride is bland, unfunny, and poorly scripted. A little like most weddings then I guess.
