Keigoeie film as we would say in Brabant. Did love the Penoza reunion. One big mistake though Dutch cars didn't start with G in 2006 haha otherwise loved it!

The Undercover TV series was phenomenal but this movie is far from what I expected. I liked that it tried to tell Ferry's backstory but almost none of the characters had an emotional impact. [spoiler] This story was basically about a guy who really liked a girl and killed the only people that cared about him to be with her [/spoiler]. This movie feels more like an episode than a feature length film

To be honest, I usually don't watch Dutch films because somehow I feel like we make films over here with the dialogue feeling so clumsy and most of the films we make over here star the same actors over and over, which is a shame.

But, along came Ferry. Never saw the tv show (which is also on Netflix) were this character is from but I know the actor Frank Lammers and this role is perfect for him. He is a hitman/handyman for a Hasj lord from Amsterdam played by Huub Stapel. They get robbed and Ferry (Lammers) has to extract revenge.

What we get is a fun film with great chemistry between Lammers and Elise Schaap. The story is by the book but it works. I went in with low expectations but in the end the 2 hours flew by. I might even check out the tv show.

If I have to recommend a Dutch film made in the past 10 years, I would say check out this Netflix produced film. Ferry is well worth a watch.
