Left me breathless near the end (damn, what am I saying? It was throughout the whole movie). Particularly strong if you're an immigrant yourself. Whenever I think I have it hard, I remember there are refugees which have it much harder and still fight on

Tremendous film. If you're the type of person who gets annoyed at migrants arriving at your country in boats or over walls - you should be made to watch this film. And if you're still annoyed after watching it, chances are, you're an absolute c**t.

[Göteborg FF] The justification for the animation is based on the concealment of the protagonist's face. Amin is an "unreliable narrator", who has based his life on lies to be accepted, as homosexual and refugee. A therapeutic journey to which we are invited to share Amin's memories (and some lies). At the end, we are moved and grateful for the courage of a man who didn't want to show his face but shared his soul.

Finally. My first 10/10 movie of the 2022 Academy Awards. If a Disney movie wins over this, I’m rioting. Absolutely breathtaking. One of the best documentaries I have ever watched.

It wouldn’t be fair to rate “Flee” as an entertainment work, as it’s essentially a radio documentary accompanied by animated sequences. Throat-lump-inducing but never overly dramatic for the sake of it.

The low frame rate is annoying at first, but you will get used to it. I particularly liked when the drawings became rough and sketchy during the most tragic moments.
