Not just running, shooting & killing $#!t like his previous ones.
I've been waiting for this for years!

Since "The Great Debaters" Denzel career has taken a turn into the more action oriented films, holding his great acting talents back for a while. But finally Denzel has come back to what he does best..serious acting. "Flight" is a very well acted film with a great story, and very good directing. Robert Zemeckis and Denzel deliver a film with a very realistic tone and a very good moral. The supporting cast of John Goodman,Don Cheadle and others make the film as real as we can get. If you are into drama then you will love this film, if not well.. watch Transformers or something else.

Nice, but not worth watching in a theater.

So you'll going to get like 10 minutes of solid adrenaline action movie and the rest 2 hours is going to be a shitass boring documentary you could not care less for. Brace yourself.

Great cast and an unexpected great story. Denzel Washington is again giving a wonderful performance of a flawed character.

Meh. I've seen Denzel Washington give better performances. A pilot crash-lands a plane, and his alcohol abuse comes to light. This one is pretty ham-fisted in its approach to the subject. I mean, while not bad, it's not that great either. While it has a definite story-arc and character development, it lacks any kind of subtlety. The problem is that it's so obvious how things are going to play out and so few risks are taken with the story or characters that it feels very cookie cutter with no surprises, which in turn makes it feel condescending in that it doesn't give the audience credit for detecting subtlety in a serious subject. Average, but not great.

The movie is OK, Denzel was really good as always. But the story failed to engage me. As a viewer I really didn't like the guy who's only looking out for himself. And his change of heart during the hearing was not believeable for me.

So, not good if you like aviation movies - becuase this isn't one. And as a character movie concerning an alcoholic it's too shallow.

A difficult movie to truly enjoy. It's a completely daft story, yet feels like it's got a heavyweight veneer. As always, Denzel Washington does his Denzel Washington acting...which is really starting to wear a little thin with me.

This is a bit of a failed by the numbers film, and I was never able to resolve what the writers and director were trying to say about the lead character. Flight was by no means horrible, just a bit of a waste of time.

From the sky to the deepest bottom to raise slowly again... sinusoid of life...

Overall a good movie. 6 out of 10. I felt there were some unrealistic things in the movie.

1. There is no way the media wouldn't have been able to find Whip quicker and easier than they did. When the plane landing in the Hudson, that guy was all over the news, I'm sure he couldn't fart without someone knowing about it. Whip would have been tracked down and hounded from the moment he left the hospital, not weeks later.

2. Why does Hollywood have to continue to make Christians look like Crazies?!?! First the church service in white sheets outside the church that the plane crashed by, then the cancer patient who claims God gave him cancer, and finally the co-pilot and his weird girlfriend that make Christianity look like a cult. Hollywood, not all of us are crazy cult-like individuals ready to damn you to hell. Get over it!

Flight starts off strong then teeters for a bit, but the ending is really good. Denzel is stellar in this while he shows off his acting chops through sober and drunk moments. I could honestly watch that man snort coke and get drunk for hours.
