I recommend watching Florence Foster Jenkins: A World of Her Own before you see this movie; it basically is a documentary on Florence and just how delusional she was and how the people around her basically took her money by giving her praise. I did enjoy this movie with Streep (and I am not 60+ years old). This movie was good, it stays true to Florence's character since that was just how she was; she's KNOWN to be the world's worst opera singer and the movie delivers in showing that and showing her iconic moment of selling out Carnegie Hall. It's silly and touching at times. If you're in the mood to learn a little bit and have a few laughs, I recommend this movie. If you want to know more about FFJ before seeing this movie, watch the documentary.

"Florence Foster Jenkins" hits the high notes with the costumes, the 1940's setting, story, and the warmhearted elements of the film. Especially the performance from Meryl Streep and Simon Helberg who were both excellent in the movie. But Hugh Grant I thought was the most emotional part of the film. He carries the film and this might be his best performance.

Unfortunately, this is Stephen Frears least accomplished and weakest movie. Bad editing, energy was lacking, and the film making isn't that special. A decent film with three knock out performances.

Oh I felt in love with Florence & St. Clair.
Meryl Streep did it again! BRAVO!!
Hugh Grant was amazing too!
Cosmé was adorable! The way he laugh was cute.
Is really entertaining. So fresh.

This was definitely one of my highlights for 2016! The movie was extremely funny and romantic as well as sad at the same time. The music was, as expected, horrible but it was such amazing acting from all sides. The setting was amazing and I just loved this movie!

This is a charming film with some splendid actors giving very good turns. Meryl and Hugh are excellent, and the supporting cast are worthy of note.

The downside though is the pacing and repetition.

The revelation of her voice is done well. Strung out and timed excellently. From thereon though, the same 'treat' is given to the audience, each time with less payoff than the last.

This drives the runtime longer and makes the film less enjoyable than it feels it could have been.

Astonishing to know that it is based on reality though!

Superb performance from Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant at his most Hugh Grantish. Not a great film but very watchable.

While I adore Meryl Streep in pretty much everything and I was positively impressed by Simon Helberg, I have a hard time seeing why this story needed to be told. It was painful to watch

Hugh Grant has never been better, and Meryl Streep was awfully good! Joyous film, and an incredible true story about a woman whose singing voice never quite matched that in her imagination.
