_Food Choices_ is a well-made documentary about the benefits of a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) diet. It is divided into sections, the bulk of which being the health benefits - where we hear from doctors, as well as athletes (see also, _The Game Changers_).
It also touches on the environmental impact (see also _Cowspiracy_).
The shortest amount of time was spent with an anecdotal claim about a WFPB diet helping with clinical depression; if any scene needed to be cut, it was this. You'll notice this was the only part which did not include professionals talking about the data supporting the idea. I am very open to the notion that a WFPB diet has several benefits, but it is not a panacea. I change my mind to fit the evidence, not the other way around.
Lastly, the documentary shifts to the moral question - veganism. The footage shown is some of the most tame, that I have seen. It's clear the director wanted to make a point without being 10/10 graphic (see also _Earthlings_, _Dominion_).

I think this is a great documentary if you are on the fence about a WFPB diet or being vegan (yes, there is a difference). _Food Choices_ is also a good starting point if you are wanting to share ideas with a carnist, who may be less receptive to the more explicit side of the issue.

Post script: As with any media that talks about veganism, there will be trolls - trolls being a shorthand for people with severe psychological disorders. A little research will tell you people like this live in a world of misery, and want - nay, need - others to also be miserable. I feel a reasonable amount of empathy for psychologically-damaged people like this. I know they didn't ask to be this way, and that should not be confused with acceptance of their actions. Empathy is a strength, not a weakness. If the majority of humans lacked empathy, we never would have survived; think about that, remember that.
