The start is not so good but it gets better throughout the film.
Robert Rodriguez "Room 309 - The Misbehavers" and Quentin Tarantino's "Penthouse - The Man from Hollywood" were the best segments of the film.
Tim Roth does a great job in the leading role and provide some good funny scenes with his weird behavior as a bellhop of a hotel in a crazy New Years Eve.
Overall, the first half is nothing special but the second half is great! It's worth seeing because of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

The first segment was awful. The second segment was meh. The third was different, but ok. The fourth was pretty good.

_Four Rooms_ breaks the trend anthology films have of uneven shorts by making **every** vignette godawful cringe.

Why Tarantino and Rodriguez would try to resuscitate slapstick is beyond me, unless it's to make us believe the etymology of the term is "it makes me want to slap them upside the head with a stick."

It's almost as though these directors are actively trying to destroy their careers, and take Tim Roth, Marisa Tomei, Madonna, Bruce Willis, Ione Skye, Lili Taylor, Jennifer Beals, and Antonio Banderas down with them!

Burn these _Four Rooms_ down to the ground with fire!

I only recently became aware of this movie. The best segment of this 4 story anthology movie is the third story "Room 309" "The Misbehavers". It is also pretty much the only reason to see this movie. The other 3 stories are just OK at best. Tim Roth is a delight to watch. I had no clue he could be so goofy.

A convoluted mess, Four Rooms is a black comedy based on a series of short stories by Roald Dahl. Broken into 4 parts, the film follows a hotel bellhop who gets drawn into the wacky antics of several guests while doing his rounds on New Year’s Eve. Each segment features a different writer/director (two of whom include Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino), and have differing tones and styles; which can be disjointing at times. However, the all-star cast, which includes Tim Roth, Madonna, Jennifer Beals, Antonio Banderas, Marisa Tomei, and Bruce Willis, is rather impressive and gives some good performances. But unfortunately Four Rooms just doesn’t work, and comes off as a bunch of thrown together nonsense that’s not all that interesting or funny.

When I saw that Four Rooms was a comedy, I was like: 'Ok, you're going to a Tarantino comedy, you don't know what it is like, and you'll probably won't like it.' - But, as I was pumped for Reservoir Dogs and it was kinda disappointing, in this case, it was the opposite.

The opening scene was good, simple.

The first room was the most 'wtf'-one, because I wasn't expecting that. The second was also strange but funnier. The third was the funniest and the fourth one was the best.

The characters were very good! I liked to see how Tim Roth maintained his 'wannabe Mr.Bean' character for so long! Antonio Banderas was thrilling to watch. Jennifer Beals, sexy as hell. And watching Bruce Willis and Tarantino 'in that state' was also an excellent performance - oh and 'till now, it was the best performance I saw from Tarantino.

The only thing I missed was the one and only awesome Tarantino soundtrack, but, since the movie wasn't entirely directed by him, I can accept that.

Would watch again!

this is a fun movie. 4 one act plays taking place in 4 different rooms in a hotel. a night in the life of type thing. im fond of anthology works. seeing the different perspectives on the theme is always interesting. i like not knowing who directed what skits to begin with. its amazing how easy it is most of the time to tell. its fun watching the different styles and how they mesh. this one especially especially tickle my fancy because of how interconnected they are (vs say something like animatrix where they just have to use the world, no constraints such as time or place).
solidly entertaining
