As a kid, I really loved this movie and probably watched it a hundred times. I found it to be one of funniest movies I had seen. After rewatching it many years later, while I still liked and enjoyed it, it just never felt the same. I think its due to as a kid, I did not look much further into the movie other than the jokes. The film is still funny to me at times but some of it just does not hit home and make me laugh out loud like I had done years before. I think this is due to Chris Tucker, I really like him in the film, but sometimes he feels like he's over acting and it gets a bit too much.

Ice cube and Chris Tucker have great chemistry together, they play off each other quite well and their are so many quotes in this movie that have always stuck with me and are hilarious. A special mention to John Witherspoon who plays Ice Cubes dad and while he is their for a lot of comedic effect at the beginning and was certainly a highlight, his slightly more serious turn after he finds his son with a gun has a deeper message for not just Craig, but also the audience is a welcome addition. A lot of the characters are silly in this film, but that's where most of the fun lies. This film was never going to win any awards, but its not a film to take too serious.

It has a very simple plot with other little things going on in the background and its hard to pick a favourite between Deebo bullying everyone, or Craig with his jealous girlfriend. I loved the reaction to Smokey seeing Rita for the first time. It is a very nostalgic film.

As a whole, Friday is still a decent comedy that I would of rated slightly higher as a kid because of the all the hilarious moments, but the thin plot does hurt the film for me when watching as an adult.
