You can feel the sleaziness of the production, probably due to the director, but this one gets ragged on a little too much, essentially just because of the twist. Which is ridiculous, as it's a pretty solid entry into the franchise...

i felt so good when he killed Vi and the cop saying Jason is killing these victims made no sense at all since there's no solid proof to back up his theory whatsoever. as he was killing u can see the back of his head and then when he died his head was normal!!!!!! seriously!!! u expect me to fall for such for that?!!! other than that watching old movies is always fun no matter how lazy the plot or production is, that's part of it and we all embraced it and that's the fun tbh.

While the quality of this movie admittedly isn't great, and I can appreciate why it gets a lot of flack, it's a huge guilty pleasure of mine. It's probably the first movie on the series I think I saw when I was a kid. It's worth watching for the comical Ethel Hubbard alone :D

Everyone hates this part because Jason is technically not in it. But it is actually one of my favourites. Who cares if someone else is wearing the mask? There are some great kills, some nudity, some funny moments. A great slasher overall.

"so I was thinking for the next Friday the 13th, we need a new hook. So, get this. For the next one, hold on, you're gonna love this, let's not show any of the kills. You know? The thing that made this franchise famous? Yeah, let's stop doing that. People are gonna love it. What? No I haven't been drinking, why do you ask?"

-The director probably.

A couple notes.
I felt that since Tommy (as an adult) dreamed about himself as a kid, witnessing Jason come out the grave and murder the two boys, it felt like it actually happened. Otherwise that is such a weird type of dream to have.

Pam reminds me of Ginny from part 2

I'm not sure why Roy didn't just go after Victor instead of killing everybody but the one person that actually killed his son. And speaking of Roy, it was painfully obvious he was the one doing the killing. I thought they could have better choices when it came to him and making us believe he wasn't directly connected.

"It's... Showtime!"

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is the other one without Jason Voorhees. This time it is the father of the annoying chocolate bar eating kid who gets an ax to the head.

I still enjoy that they tried something else but it still feels a bit flat to me compared to the others. The kills are mostly kinda off screen, fake blood was really expensive in 1985 I think, even Joe Bob didn't enjoy that part. It also has so many cars that won't start! Incredible. And you have a recurring character in Tommy Jarvis and he's not even the main focus!

Anyway, it tried, many kills, many characters, some scenes you'll never forget because they are so out of the blue and the great idea of more people wearing the iconic mask to kill.

Still, so many deaths over a chocolate bar. No, part V is one you can skip.

I gave it a five because there is a nice twist at the end, if it wasn't for that, I'd probably would of gave it a three.
