We get to see Jason in all his glory but no hockey mask (yet). Same basic premise just with a different villain. Not quite as good as the first.

Muffin the dog is a traitor. Getting our guards down at the end.

To be honest, I thought I would dislike more this movie. It's entertaining and has a good pace, I enjoyed the suspense built. This was my girlfriend first slasher movie and she really liked it even though she's not really into horror movies, so I guess that's a major plus for the film. The ending doesn't make much sense, but I think every Friday the 13th has a final jump scare that's supposed to be a hallucination of the main character. Although I liked Jason characterization during the film, when I stopped to think about it, it is pretty lame and super generic.

I always try to watch these movies on a Friday the 13th so 'tis the day.

I don't think there is one of these movies I really love but for some reason I really like the franchise as a whole.

Not a lot of story but entertaining enough for not even 90 minutes.

All of these "Friday the 13th" movies...I don't know if I'd seen any of them, from start to finish, other than "Jason Goes To Hell". And the only reason I remember that is because I rented it on the recommendation of a friend. Stupid friend...

So it was with much trepidation that I chose to watch "Ft13thPt2" ( I hate when people need an acronym for everything, but it was kind of fun to do just now). As the movie chugged along, I was actually enjoying what I thought was going to be just another dumb slasher movie. And I was right. It IS just another dumb slasher movie. But doggone it...I was having a blast with it.

As it got closer to wrapping up, I started to remember the main character pretending to be Jason's Mother. Then, the memories were unlocked from the deepest cracks and crevices of my brain. I HAD actually seen this before (probably in the theater) and that I liked it back then, too.

Wasn’t as good as the original, the kills weren’t as good and still no hockey mask. Wasn’t great, wasn’t bad. I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again though ha ha.

Watched as a kid, but didn’t have the best memory of it. The guy in the bar had the right idea, drink until all the s:asterisk_symbol::asterisk_symbol:t blows over. What is it about 80s horror films and corny sex scenes right before being killed ha.

As a young lad I didn’t have the proper patience for non hockey mask Jason, finally as a wise old man I am looking to rectify the mistakes of my youth and I am all the better for it. From the idea that Jason apparently drove out to the city to tie up loose ends with Alice from part one, to the sheer audacity that Jason didn’t actually die and he’s a full grown man to the awesome reveal of mongoloid Jason crashing through the window, this movie rocks.

**5/10:** Could've been a 6/10 as it was perhaps slightly above average for the most part, but it fell apart at the end.
There's no real story to speak of here other than,
"Is Jason real or legend."
It has is moments, but overall it's pretty forgettable. If your really interested this series, specifically Jason's origins, then I guess this is worth watching. Otherwise it's rather skippable.

A classic, but if you are expecting the iconic looking Jason, then this is not it. But it does give further back story of Jason and digs a little deeper into his past. Overall it is a great slasher movie typical of the 80s.

A rather base, derivative sequel to the effective (if ham-fisted) first Friday. It's less bloody but every bit as violent, with a comically ever-present Jason stalking through the shadows in almost every scene (no matter how distant), seeking hapless teenagers to string up for the vaguest of reasons. He's not quite the icon he'd grow into with later installments - no hockey mask, clunky coveralls, a tuft of long brown hair - but he does a fair job of mixing up the arsenal and he's usually bathed in shadows so we can give that a pass.

There isn't much to root for in the bland cast of victims, which checks off stereotypes like a politically-correct Saturday morning cartoon. Even at an economical eighty-seven minutes, I felt like we were spending a bit too much time with these shallow, repetitive supporting characters. Special points for sending the wheelchair-bound counselor down a steep flight of stairs with a gaping head wound, though.

Redundant and formulaic, rambling and aimless, it's a little too comfortable with aping the original where it could be seeking broader pastures.

Weirdly, I come to these films after playing the troubled game of the same name and, having finally got round to seeing this film, it gave me a real appreciation for what an excellent job the developers did at realising Packanack Lodge and Crystal Lake in general. Similarly, having been a fan of the game probably helped me enjoy this film more, too. Certainly the end chase / fight between Jason and
Ginny
was quite thrilling but I enjoyed the entire film.
