Jason finally meets some who can at least fight back a little. He looks super creepy now that he has fully gone undead.

Really sucks that we missed out on all the great gore scenes. It is such a fun premise that has a lot of missed potential, but comes to a nice showdown in the climax. Let’s hear it for Kane Hodder

So I'm guessing "The Final Chapter" flew over the studios heads like an Hawk.

A New Blood is set years after Jason being chained to the bottom of Crystal Lake, he is awoken by a girl with telekinetic powers and begins another killing spree.

How did this series get here? I mean, what started as the usual slasher movie with the first movie, then suddenly turns into one of the most ridiculous and silly horror movies I have ever seen. A girl with Telekinesis powers that beats up Jason...WHAT?! And yes, I know it's going for a different approach as this is the seventh movie in the series, but it's only done for the sake of it, which is dreadful.

This is by far the worst entries to the Friday the 13th series. It's boring, the acting is atrocious and so is the writing, but the whole series has been like that.

Well. It's better than the last one. Which means nothing really. But atleast this was watchable. The characters aren't as annoying. I just need more gore. That's the whole reason for these movies and it's been missing.

Watching the behind the scenes with interviews and deleted scenes and man, this movie could've been so much better. The MPAA told them to cut so many scenes. Literally the visual effects and gore I want in these movies got cut out.

This one's just OK. Most of the kills are pretty mediocre, but Hodder makes for an imposing Jason. I'm not so sure the Carrie v. Jason angle works all that well, but I can't fault them for trying out something new.

On 2nd watch this wasn’t good as I thought it was when I first watched it back in the day. I guess I am a bit more critical now that I’ve started reviewing movies. It was okay, I guess at this point Jason is beyond human, but yet they had things like lamps and plants knocking him off his feet. The kids weren’t memorable at all. The kills were just okay to me. And Tina should have definitely came back as she was the only one who could really stand up to Jason.

Took me 3 sittings to get thru this one. It's just not very good, beginning to end, even for a slasher film.

Jason rises again to stab, slice and sever the partygoing youths of Crystal Lake. This time, he stares down with a fellow supernatural: Tina, a troubled young woman with telekinetic abilities and an equally tragic history with the location. Points for shaking up the formula a tad, but this gimmick is just as ham-fisted and overplayed as everything else the series has tried to freshen itself up. Along with Tina's bad floating-toaster act, we still get the requisite amount of shallow teenage stereotypes - boring characters who don't really deserve their fate but certainly won't be mourned - and magical Jason hide-and-seek performances.

Once again crippled by the censors, the kills are all cut short, and without those frequent, bloody, money shots to rely on, there's really no reason to bother tuning in. This entry's final surprise - a callback to the first film that's already been aped once or twice before - is so snort-inducingly bad I can't believe it actually got the green light. Stupid, toothless, time-wasting schlock.

Going from the ridicules to the absurd, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood is all kinds of crazy. When Tina Shepard, a troubled teenager with psychic powers, accidentally resurrects Jason from the dead, he goes on another killing spree; and only Tina can stop him. Newcomer Lar Park-Lincoln has some screen presence, but overall the acting's poor. The writing's equally as bad, and is loaded with plot holes. However, going so over-the-top does make the film somewhat entertaining. Still, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood is an embarrassment to the series, which gets worse with each new installment.
