Wanted to watch an "easier to digest" comedy this weekend, so I ended up watching **Game Night** in theaters that just came out with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, and I really enjoyed it. There were a lot of good laughs and a very solid and honestly relatively unique premise for a comedy. In action, the "Game Night gone wrong" premise worked out a lot better than I thought it would from seeing the initial trailers, mostly due to a good balance of varied semi-believable comedic situations, a nice brisk pace over 1.5 hours, and a dash of "real life" themes for good measure (but not too much, of course).

There was great chemistry between the two leads of Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, and the supporting characters were all very fun and unique in their own rights (yay for Sharon Horgan from Catastrophe). Honestly, the specific interactions between each of the couples was done very well, and each couple gave off a distinct vibe that worked to keep the movie fresh. Most of the jokes hit ("Hey Denzel!!"), and things never got too overly "ridiculous" or completely "unbelievable" where all common sense gets completely thrown out the window (aka later Hangover movies). I thought that maybe Max "the stalker cop" would be a little too overboard, but things got concluded quite nicely in the end and worked out for the better (definitely stay to watch the ending credits and the post-credits scene).

I didn't have the greatest expectations coming in, but I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. A very, very solid 7/10 from me. If you want a nice comedy to enjoy with some friends and get some good solid laughs (this one will have jokes for everyone), I definitely recommend checking **Game Night** out. Or if tickets to Black Panther are sold out... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Massive win from _Game Night_, had no expectations going in, but it ended up totally thrilling not just me, but the whole group I watched it with. One of 2018's stronger entries thus far. Always a pleasure to get that sort of a feeling, but especially happy that it came from a non-franchise movie.

_Final rating:★★★½ - I really liked it. Would strongly recommend you give it your time._

Very fun, and surprisingly refreshing.

'Game Night' is definitely worth a watch. It actually features a fairly simple premise but it's one that is brought to life splendidly. The humour is strong, as are the majority of the cast. It has some neat camerawork, also.

Jason Bateman (Max) and Rachel McAdams (Annie) make for a terrific pairing, they bounce off each other very well. Jesse Plemons (Gary) low-key steals the show though, his character is so basic but Plemons plays him to perfection - he made me laugh with just the smallest bits of comedy. Jeffrey Wright also appears, as does a certain Mr. Morgan.

There are rumours of sequels potentially being a thing. I mean, I'd check them out for sure but I kinda hope they don't... I think they would be overdoing it, meaning it would become stale fast. Who knows, though.

Check it out if you get the opportunity.

This is one of the funniest movie I have watched in a long time. It starts out a little low key and slow, giving you no idea what is coming. I wanted to try it because of Jason Bateman from Ozark, so I didn’t read reviews or watch a trailer. I suggest you watch it cold too if you have a choice.

We found the plot to be continuously engaging and full of laughs. There was one scene that made us lose it and laugh like we haven’t done for a movie since the burning dog scene in There’s Something about Mary. I won’t give it away, but will just mention to pay attention when they introduce the squeaky toy.

Okay, a couple of the characters seem rather stereotypical, but even one of those turns out not to be as he seems. I am definitely setting this one aside to watch again at some point.
