Deep in the African jungle, a baby named George, the sole survivor of a plane crash, is raised by gorillas. George grows up to be a buff and lovable klutz who has a rain forest full of animal friends: Tookie, his big-beaked toucan messenger; Ape, a witty talking gorilla; and Shep, a peanut-loving pooch of an elephant. But when poachers mess with George's pals, the King Of Swing swings into action.

I saw this movie so many times as a kid and still remembered a lot of it when rewatching it now. Late 90s Brendan Fraser was a star. I loved all the 4th wall breaking narration and general silliness.

Funny moments spread throughout, but the fabric joining them just doesn't hang together as anything one could reasonably call "cohesive". Characters are, um… Well, they show up on screen and say stuff that moves the story ahead, I guess. That said, I'm certainly going to take and remember the gags that worked. ("Now comes the part where we throw our heads back and laugh." "Were you fighting with the narrator?" etc.)
