A heartbreaking and infuriating watch. The intersection of misogyny, disability, and class illustrates why and how abusers, especially male abusers, get off so lightly. Why they get so much more sympathy and lenience than the victims and mourners in their wake. Their families and the system treat this as a righteous given, and any challenge to that obnoxious grandstanding, while all the leads want is their daughter back and a recognition- true recognition- of the suffering and pain caused. Most of the boys ignore their cries, and one cries himself, leaping to self flagellation, but the film refuses to absolve him. He's still here to cry, and if he's left to wrestle with this for the rest of his life it is the smallest measure of justice. The searing performances are mesmerizing and left me choked up, and it's a film you absolutely should watch especially for its runtime.
